Albert James "Jimmy" Tant Sr., 71, of Henderson, NC died on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

He was the son of the late Sanford Kinsmon Tant Sr. a nd Pong Soon Park (Janet) Tant.

Mr. Tant was retired from ASPEN Tree Company.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.

Surviving is his wife , Ruby Griffin Tant, four daughters, Wendy Schandel (Steve), Christie Tant, Angela Faulkner and Jane t Chap man (Kenny), three sons, Michael Tan t, Mark Collie r (Angela) and Danny Carrol l ; three sisters, Doreen Pernell (Ronnie ) , Cynthia Breedlove (Tommy) , and Phyllis Davis (Kelly); one brother, Larry Tant, and many grandchildren and one great gran dchild.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Albert James Tant II , one brother, Sanford Kinsmon Tant Jr., one granddaughter, Linds ey Rose Tant and his beloved dog, Precious.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church .  All other times they will be at his home.

A special "Thank You" goes to the staff in the Progressive Care Unit of Duke Raleigh Hospital , for their kindness and love shown to Jimmy th roughout is his illness.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, those planning to attend the service, are asked to adhere to all CDC guidelines by wearing a face cover ing of some sort, and to practice social distancing.
