Alfred T Hobgood

Alfred Thomas "RIP" Hobgood 95, of Henderson, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Willie Thomas Hobgood and Willie Jeanette Mosley Hobgood. He was the widower of Jean Elaine Ranes Hobgood.

Alfred was a longtime member of Cokesbury Methodist Church. In addition to tending his farm, he was a truck driver for many years with Louisiana Pacific and Crowder Logging Company.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cokesbury Methodist Church Cemetery. Conducted by Pastor Mike Edmondson.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Hobgood (Bud Tipton) and Angela H Shay (Michael); one son, Carl Ray Hobgood (Vivian); seven grandchildren, Jeff, Jennifer, Brian, Wendy, Will, Austin and Josh; twelve great grandchildren, Makayla, Scott, Drake, Gage, Natalie, Levi, Gray, Colby, Hailey, Abigail, Wyatt and Noah; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by, one son, Alfred Thomas "Tommy" Hobgood Jr.; two sisters, Patsy H Clark and Inez Reams; and two brothers, Cecil Hobgood and Charles Hobgood.

The family will receive friends at the home of Carl and Vivian Hobgood.
