Allie Reece Champion, 92, of Oxford died Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Duke Hospice in Durham.

Born May 28, 1933 she was the youngest of the seven children of Conley Reece and his wife Effie Dula Reece. She attended Wilton and Oxford schools and worked in manufacturing including Burlington, Revlon, and Lenox China from which she retired in 1995. She lived her entire life in Granville County.

In addition to her parents she is preceeded in death by her husband of 67 years, Howard Champion; infant son, David Howard Champion; three brothers, Perry, Lester, and D.C. Reece; and three sisters, Ila Neal, Dessie Morgan, and Charlotte Cope.

She is survived by sons Rev. Kevin Champion of Kings Mountain, NC and Scott Champion of Oxford; two granddaughters, Kimberly (Cody) Cox and Allison (Thomas) Bott; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Bott, and Joshua and Jalen Cox.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Tungsten Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Champion.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 with the service to follow at 3:00. There will be a private commital at a later date.
