Amy Blackwell Malugen, 72, of Oxford passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Devine Family Care Home in Youngsville, NC.

Born in Granville County on August 18, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Howard Stradley Blackwell and Edith Pauline Frazier Blackwell.
Amy was a woman of strong faith and never met a stranger; she was a wife, mother and Nana. She had a passion for helping others and loved to bake cakes for her grandkid's birthdays.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Oxford conducted by Rev. David Herman. Interment will be private at Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery in Nelson, VA.

Survivors include three daughters, Kelly Garrett (Scottie), Nicole Malugen and Corey Million; one son, Kevin Malugen; twelve grandchildren, Justin Garrett, Devin Garrett (Whitney), Megan Garrett, Austin Davis (Kate), Hailey Breitz (Jay), Landon Davis, Madison Burkhuis (Jeff), Maysen Malugen, Nolan Malugen (Julie), Casey Malugen, Colton Million and Natalee Norwood; eleven great grandchildren, Kashton, Boone, Brooks, Levi, Remmington, Eli, Jacob, Paisley, Nolan Jr., Emory and Cadence; two stepsons, Jason Malugen (Katrina) and Chris Malugen (Kim); one stepdaughter, Angela Malugen; five step grandchildren, Jessica Malugen, Krista Terrano (Kyle), Alexandria Malugen, Hannah Malugen and Gavin Malugen; foutr step great-grandchildren, Merritt Seech, Abbi Terrano, Ali Terrano, Kennedy Terrano; one sister, Bess Reece (Stewart); one brother, Paul Blackwell (Wanda); one sister-in-law, Wanda Blackwell and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death her husband James Malugen, one brother, Donald Blackwell and one sister, Brenda Currin.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2024, one hour prior to the service at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
