Angelica W. Dames

Angelica White Dames, 90, of Henderson, NC passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lunenburg, County VA, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel White and Marie Peluso White. She was the widow of Richard Dames.

Mrs. Dames was affectionately called Grandma June.  She was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed the simple things of life.  Grandma June was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family and truly adored all her grandchildren, constantly telling them stories of her younger years.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Meadow View Memorial Park in Oxford, conducted by the Pastor David Pate.

Surviving are three daughters, Karan Richardson (Pete), Joy Lynch (Phil) and Scarlet Davis; one sister, Rozelia Buchanan; eight grandchildren, Cameron Winters (Amelia), Danelle Piper, Jeremy Phelps (Julie), Justin Phelps (April), Amanda Lynch, Christopher Lynch, Ryan Lynch (Maureen) Angela Woodley (Don); eight great grandchildren, Taylor Ayscue, Cameron Winters Jr. (Emily), Michaela Phelps, Jay Phelps, Piper Lynch, Annabelle Conroy, Lucas Lane, Jordan Moss (Marissa); four great-great grandchildren, King Ayscue, Ace Ayscue, Mira Moss, Maci Hunt; one niece, Robin Smith (Larry); great niece, Renzi Smith. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert White.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.  All other times, they will be at the home of Karan and Pete Richardson, 2757 Stewart Farm Road, Henderson, NC.

The family wishes to give a "Special Thank You" to her "Loving Caretaker" Janet Ranes, to the staff at 3HC and to the staff at Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care shown to their mother during this difficult time.
