Ann Garner Brinkley 82 of Creedmoor, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Ann grew up in Creedmoor, along with her late husband R.E. Brinkley, Jr, and attended Creedmoor High School, where she was a majorette and played basketball.
She was a business owner but worked most of her career in Research Triangle Park. She retired from Glaxo in 2001, where she was a supervisor for the Returned Goods department.

Ann loved her family and friends. She also loved animals, especially her cats, and feeding the birds and deer that visit her yard every day. She also enjoyed sewing projects, collecting shells at the beach, gardening, and classic country music.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor. Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery.

In addition to her husband, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Grace Garner, and sister Janet Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Brinkley-Clayton; and dear extended family.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers,  the family requests donations can be made in honor of Ann Brinkley to the Goathouse Refuge Cat Sanctuary in Pittsboro,  NC  for their medical fund.www.goathouserefuge.org
