Ann Newman Mayes
April 21, 1943 to November 8, 2023

Ann Mayes, of Henderson, North Carolina went peacefully to be with Jesus on November 8,
2023. She was at home on a warm and sunny fall day and the spring-like weather was fitting, as
one of Ann's favorite times of year was spring, with bright, beautiful flowers filling both her
yard and her greenhouse.

Surviving Ann is her loving and devoted husband, Ralph Mayes. Ann and Ralph shared a
beautiful life journey for 58 years. Their active involvement in the Henderson community,
notably as partners in Supply Line Country Market and as devout members of The First Baptist
Church of Henderson, exemplified their unwavering commitment to their community and faith.
Ann is a native of Henderson and lived there most of her life.
Surviving Ann are her brother, Jim Newman and his wife, Sandy; Ann's children, Tommy Mayes
and wife, Katie; Judy Ayscue; and John Mayes and wife, Jolie. Ann was most proud of her six
grandchildren, Thomas, Allie, Sydney, Parker, Jack, and Bennett.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Murdock and Edna Newman.

A service celebrating Ann's life will be held at The First Baptist Church in Henderson at 2pm,
Sunday November 12th, with visitation immediately following in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory of Ann to The First
