Ann Hunt Rowland Nicholson

Ann Hunt Rowland Nicholson of Middleburg, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home.

Born 1925 in Boston, Mass, she was the daughter of the late Garland Thomas Rowland and Marie Pearcy Rowland. She was the widow of George Noel Nichelson.

Ann was a graduate of Henderson High School, Peace College, Womens College of Greensboro and Winthrop College of Rock Hill, SC. She was also a member of Middleburg Global Methodist Church, Middleburg UMW, Middleburg Garden Club and a former member of H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library Board of Trustees.

Ann was a former teacher and librarian.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, 2pm at Middleburg Global Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Norma Roberts.. A private burial will follow at Middleburg Cemetery.

She is survived by a niece; Diane Rowland Rhodes of Cliffside Park, NJ, a great niece; Carolyn Rhodes of Philadelphia, PA, two stepchildren; Dr. Brenda Nicholson Pritchard of Knoxville, TN, Brock Nicholson of Clayton, NC, three step grandchildren, specials friends; Ronald and Nancy Stainback and their children. She is preceded in death by a brother; Garland Thomas Rowland, Jr., and one sister in-law; Marlen Marcus Rowland.

Pallbearers will be Rodney G. Stainback, Ronald E. Stainback, Jr., Martin Lee, Thomas C. Parham, Jr., Dr. Thomas Louis and Tony Adams.

They wish to give a "Special Thank You "to her caregivers, Phyllis Jenks, Stacey Abbott, Carrie Gooch, Carol Bell and Cheryl Wray for the love and special care they showed Ann over the last few years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the H. Leslie Perry memorial Library or the Middleburg Global Methodist Church, PO Box 100 Middleburg, NC 27556.
