Anthony Lawrence Van Hook Jr., 57, of Oxford passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his daughter's home.
Born in Cumberland County, NJ on December 15, 1965, he was the son of Marianne Baitinger and the late Anthony Lawrence Van Hook Sr. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for camping, fishing, skydiving and riding his motorcycles. He had a special interest in bending neon and made it his life's work, starting his own business many years ago.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor officiated by Reverend Johnny Yount. Burial will follow at South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Van Hook (William "Billy" Boop) and Marianne A. Van Hook (Chris Evans); his mom, Marianne Baitinger Van Hook; four grandchildren, Cayden Lawrence Lunsford, Mark Anthony Evans, Ryan James Boop and Vincent Alexander Evans; one sister, Sarah Wansing (Kelly); one brother, Frank Joseph Van Hook; special friends, Janey Hunter and Darlene Van Hook and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Sarah Van Hook and Frank and Mary Baitinger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his daughters to assist with his final expenses.
