Arthur F. Gremillion Jr.

Arthur "Reb" Fleming Gremillion Jr., 77, of Ridge, NY, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC.

Born in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Arthur Fleming Gremillion and Olga Kathryn Hoagland Gremillion.

Arthur was a veteran of the US Navy, where he proudly served his country as a torpedoman on the USS John Marshall missile submarine. Arthur worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory as a research technician, he later went back to college and had a long career in nuclear medicine. He was a true artist and had a passion for carving duck decoys. He was commissioned by the Harve' De Grace Decoy Museum in Maryland for his work. When he and his wife decided to make North Carolina their second home, he made new hobbies such as farming and welding.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Viverito Gremillion; two daughters, Lynne' Lennon (Rob) and Patricia Gremillion-Burdge (Robert); one son, Michael Gremillion; two grandsons, Robert John Lennon and Kaden Burdge; two sisters, Maude "Maudie" Lenberger and Olga "Prissy" Hawkins; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Richard McCullough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ross "Rocky" Gremillion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Arthur's name to a charity of one's choice.
