Ascencion Garcia Velasquez

Ascencion Garcia Velasquez 70, of Henderson, NC, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Maria Parham Health.

Born in El Salvador, he was the son of the late Flavio Garcia and Juliana Velasquez. He was the widower of Filomena Velasquez De Garcia.

A floating visitation will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson. Burial will take place in El Salvador at a later date.

Survivors include two daughters, Edith Marely Garcia Velasquez and Mirna Leticia Garcia; two sisters, Marleny Lili Garcia Velasquez and Otigna Garcia Velasquez; seven brothers, Arnolfo Garcia Velasquez, Sonto Garcia Velasquez, Felix Garcia Velasquez, Hector Garcia Velasquez, Patricio Garcia Velasquez, Jose Ramiro Garcia Velasquez, and Rigoberto Garcia Velasquez; and two grandchildren, Derlis Aboliel Garcia and Aylin Leticia Garcia. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Darwin Ascencion Garcia; and one brother, Luiz Alonzo Garcia Velasquez.
