Aucy Lee (Dickey) Elliott III, 75, of Oxford was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Aucy Lee (Dick) Elliott Jr. and Wilma Copley Elliott.

Dickey was a man of deep integrity and unmatched perseverance. Growing up on a tobacco farm, he learned the value of working hard and carried that work ethic throughout his life setting an example for his family. Dickey dedicated 39 years to the dairy industry. He worked for several milk companies and held various positions, ultimately advancing from route salesman to manager.

For 20 years, he owned and operated a farm, pouring his heart into raising hair sheep. When he wasn’t on a farm Dickey could almost always be found at a sports field or gym watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His legacy lives on through his loving wife of 55 years, Deborah Elliott; his three children, Christy Dixon (Jamie), Kelly Edwards-Mejia (Marco), and Bryan Elliott (Sherry); six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service for his immediate family celebrating his life and faith will be held at a later date.
