Barbara Elliott Riley, 84, of Oxford passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at her daughter’s home.

Born on March 14, 1942, in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late John Paul Elliott and Zelma Garrett Elliott.

Barbara was a member of Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Tally Ho First Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Mike Craver. Interment will follow at South Granville Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by one daughter, Tuesday Oliver (John); one son, David Riley; two grandsons, Justin Ray Oliver and John Adam Oliver; one sister, Patricia Elliott Pugh of Oxford; one brother, Willie Thomas Elliott of Carrboro and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Elliott Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Melvin Riley; one daughter, Monica Ann Riley; three sons, Russell Dwayne Riley, Johnny Ray Riley and Timothy Elliott Riley and four siblings, Dan Paul Elliott, Alice Faye Drake, Donald Ray Elliott and Julian Carr Elliott.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. At other times they will be at the home of John and Tuesday Oliver.

Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Elliott, Britt Askew, Matt Wilson, Billy Pugh, Logan Bowen and Christian Pausback.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society.
