Benito Nolasco Valdivia – better known as "Chavira" 58, of Franklinton, NC, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Ayotzingo, Mexico, he was the son of Irene Valdivia Romero and the late Margarito Nolasco Xacopinca.

Benito was a great man — a loving father, husband and friend to all. He was such a kind person and cared deeply for everyone around him and always put others before himself. He was of the Catholic faith.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Louisburg. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Church in Henderson.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Melanea Galindez-Calderon; four children, Maria Sheyla Nolasco, Evelyn Nolasco, Ulises Nolasco and Julian Nolasco; two grandchildren, Jayden Sanjuan and Alyson Sanjuan; four sisters, Angelina Nolasco Valdivia, Maria Nolasco Valdivia, Margarita Nolasco Valdivia and Malena Nolasco Valdivia; and three brothers, Tomas Nolasco Valdivia, Luciano Nolasco Valdivia and Ignacio Nolasco Valdivia. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fabian Nolasco Valdivia.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Maria Sheyla Nolasco, starting Friday, November 14, 2025, at 12 noon.
