Billy Andrew Brake 72, of Oxford, NC passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, at his home.
Born in Edgcombe County, he was the son of the late Billy Boy Brake and Ruth Langley Brake Bissett. He was the widower of Mattie Sue Stegall, as well as Robin Huhn.
Billy enjoyed music and could always be found playing on Saturday nights with the Deep South Band.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Freedom Life Church. Conducted by the Rev. Jeff Prewer. A private interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville, NC.
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy West, Melissa Satterwhite (Dewley) and Shannah Brake; two sons, Martin "M.L." Vaughan and Jason Huhn; eight grandchildren, Christopher Brake, Bobby Wayne West III (Elizabeth), Amber Lynn West, Courtney W. Livengood (Tyler), James Robert Satterwhite Jr (Kayla), Michelle Lee Green (Josh), Heather Dawn Satterwhite and Noah Vaughan; twenty-two great grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Williamson (Freddy), Elizabeth Boyd (Roy), Quennie Champion, Felissa Stevenson (Billy) and Teresa Currin (William); as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
