Bobbie Jean Whitt Lunsford,81, of Stem passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.
Born on August 8,1942 in Halifax, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Green Whitt and Willie Ida Whitt.
She worked tirelessly for the State of NC until the age of seventy-three, at which time she retired. She faithfully attended church until her health declined but still attended via social media until she was no longer able to.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Apostle John Bennett and her son, Elder Charlie Dixon. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park in Oxford.
Survivors include two sons, Johnnie Walker and Charlie Dixon (Jamie); two daughters, Debbie Woodcock (Mark) and Lynn Walker; two stepsons, Lawrence and Danny Lunsford; two stepdaughters, Pamela Lunsford and Tammy Hayes; one brother, Talmadge Whitt and two sisters, Alma Terry and Gladys Lewis. She also leaves to cherish seven granddaughters, two grandsons, six great granddaughters, two great grandsons, along with many nieces and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Lunsford; five brothers, Rufus Whitt, Bill Whitt, Levi Whitt, John Whitt, and Franklin Whitt and one sister, Hazel Whitt.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
