Bonnie "Sue" Boase Burleson

Sue Boase Burleson, 71, of Henderson, NC died Friday July 14, 2023, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehab.

Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Boase and Bonnie Culp.

Sue grew up on the campus of the Citadel in Charleston, SC where her father was a chemistry professor. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in Drama. Sue worked in theatre, especially as a business manager for Unto These Hills in Cherokee, NC and the North Carolina Theatre in Chapel Hill. She was the proud mother of George W. Burleson and the loyal wife of James G. Burleson Jr.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. George Loveland. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Henderson.

Surviving is her husband James G. Burleson Jr.; one son, George W. Burleson (Samantha); one grandson, Henry Burleson and one brother, Herbert Boase of Wilmington, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Lynn Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
