Braxton John Carpenter 64, of Henderson, NC died Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home.

Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late Alexander Clarence Carpenter and Leola Madge Pennington Carpenter. He was the widower of Lynette Beal Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Robert Newton.  Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park in Oxford with military honors.

Surviving is one son, Robert Eugene Stokes Jr. (Julia Bell Young); two grandchildren, Rebecca Michelle Stokes and Cloe Michelle Stokes; two sisters, Patty Carpenter Watson and Brenda Carpenter Spain; one brother, Alexander Clarence Carpenter Jr. (Janet Christine); along with his nieces and nephews, Tracy Spain, Kevin Spain, Michelle Carroll and Thomas Watson.  Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Elmo Carpenter.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Bell, Ronald Bibee, Barry Horton, Jackson Morris, Kevin Spain, Thomas Watson

The family will receive friends Monday, July 3,2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home.
