Brenda Tate Ward, 72, of Oxford passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home.

Born in Alamance County, NC on March 5, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Tate and Inola Kirby Brooks.

No services are planned at this time.

Survivors include one daughter, Mistie “Nikki” Ward (Allen Garrett); two sons, Carlton J. Ward (Karen) and Larry “Keith” Faucette (Terri Cecil); four grandchildren, Taylor Faucette, Samantha Reed (Dusty), Heather Wagner (Caleb) and Gage Faucette; two sisters, Gail Smith and Linda Simpson; two special cousins, Jeff Tate (Teresa) and Jr Kernodle; family friends, Sherry Gunter and Angela Broadhead and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Vernon” Ward Jr.; one granddaughter, Briana Faucette and one brother, Kenneth Tate.
