Bryan Hal Stovall, 53, of Oxford, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

He was the son of the late David Malbourne Stovall and Carolyn Crews Stovall. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Gregory Stovall; his daughter, Rebecca Ashley Stovall; his son, William “Will” Francis Gregory Stovall; his siblings, Caroline Folger, David Stovall, and Kevin Stovall and his wife, Lori; Lizzie’s parents, Herb and Patti Gregory; Lizzie’s brother, Mark Gregory, and his wife, Leigh; and Lizzie’s sister, Martha Wrenn, and her husband, Jim. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bryan owned and operated Stovall Appliance Repair for thirty-five years. His aptitude for understanding how things worked was remarkable. He could do anything he set his mind to, whether repairing almost anything, practicing carpentry, or farming. He loved the natural world and was a keen observer of animals, plants, and the many complexities and mysteries of nature. For Bryan, a perfect afternoon meant “hunting” from the window of the cabin he built by hand overlooking Tabbs Creek and his food plot while reading the Wall Street Journal and listening to classical music. Most of all, he loved and was proud of Lizzie, Rebecca, and Will.

Pallbearers are Greg Jones, Ed Wrenn, Alex Keith, Jeff Stovall, Taylor Hunt, Jeff Dry, John Cash, and Jack Wrenn.

The funeral will be held in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford, North Carolina, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Gregory Family Cemetery at Hill Airy Farm. Following the burial, the family will receive friends at 3610 Hill Airy Road. Friends are also welcome at other times at the home of Jim and Martha Wrenn, 107 Parker Street, Oxford, North Carolina.
