Calvin "Roy" Hart – 73, of Oxford, NC passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.

Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Calvin Spencer Hart and Foy Blackwell Hart.

Roy was a longtime member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford Chapel. Conducted by Rev. Jim Shelley, Rev. Steve Brown and Rev. Zach Campbell. Interment will follow in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Elliott (Ronnie) and Patsy Worrell (Nathan); one niece, Deana Whitt (Ken); two nephews, Scott Elliott (Suzanne) and Joseph Bey; eight great nieces and nephews; and four special aunts, Wilma Tunstall, Evelyn Elliott, Gladys Godsey and Nell Hart.

The family will receive friends at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. At other times they will be at the homeplace.

Pall bearers will be Paul Blackwell, Wade Godsey, Van O'Brien, Troy Tunstall, Bruce Hart and Warren Wright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 N Roxboro St, Durham, NC 27704.
