Carol Parrish Martin, 81, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Heritage Crossings in Jacksonville, FL.
Born in Granville County on August 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William Artie Parrish and Effie Sronce Parrish.
Carol lived most of her life in Creedmoor but moved to Jacksonville, FL after the death of her husband, Dr. Glen Martin in October of 2022. She grew up as a member of Creedmoor Methodist Church. Carol graduated in 1961 from Creedmoor High School. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from High Point College and later received her master's from North Carolina Central University. She worked for John Umstead for thirty years and later retired as the director of the Alcohol Drug and Treatment Center after five years.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynda Carol Cramer, Cynthia Gail Shahed and Julie Lynn High; one sister, Patricia Parrish Brock and two nieces, Amy Brock Davis and Laura Brock Koontz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Glen Martin.
