Carolyn Y. Puckett, born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on March 26, 1943, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2024.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Annie Kate Williamson Yancey of Buffalo Junction, VA; her sister, Joyce Y. Johnson of Galion, OH; and her brother, Jerry W. Yancey of Virgilina, VA.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Taylor Puckett, Sr.; her son, Richard Taylor Puckett, Jr. (Julie) of Raleigh, NC; her daughter, Julie Puckett Marazita (Steve) of Crozet, VA; and her cherished grandchildren Taylor, Henry, Stella, Will, and Spencer.
Carolyn began her career at Granville Savings & Loan. When her children were young, she worked part-time and was home with them when they were not at school. Later, she transitioned to working full-time for the home construction business her husband started in 1979, Puckett Construction.
She was a dedicated and active member of Hester Baptist Church, serving in countless ministries over the 61 years, including playing the piano for her Sunday School. During the summer months, Carolyn spent nearly every morning at a local pool, enjoying time with her "pool buddies." Carolyn loved to read, embroider, walk, and spend time with her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at Hester Baptist Church, Oxford, NC Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Hensley officiating.
