Obituary

Charles Glen Ashcraft, 68, formerly of Henderson, NC died Monday, February 16, 2026.

He was a resident of Warren Hills Nursing Home in Warrenton for the past few years. Born in Vance County, Glen was the son of the late Jack Elwood Ashcraft and Josephine Baskett Ashcraft.

Glen was a lifelong member of the former Spring Valley United Methodist Church. He loved country music, westerns, his daily newspapers and was an avid Nascar fan. Glen enjoyed building model cars and drawing.  He could often be found with a stack of paper and sharpie markers creating colorful drawings of his favorite cars.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jo Ashcraft Mashburn and Deborah Jane Ashcraft and a number of special aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his niece Emily Clark (Lewis) and nephew, Jay Mashburn (Rebecca); three great-nieces, Harper Clark, Josephine Clark and Avery Mashburn; great-nephew Alex Mashburn; brother-in-law, E.J. Mashburn; aunts, Betty Jean Hicks, Gwen Baskett and Judith Ashcraft Koch and numerous cousins including three special cousins; Brenda Renshaw (Rusty), Jerry Baskett (Bonnie) and Carolyn Farmer (Tommy).

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Gardens in Henderson at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026.  Arrangements are by Sossamon Funeral Home.
