Charles D. Pendergrass Sr.

Charles "Danny" Daniel Pendergrass Sr, 73, of Norlina, NC passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Albert Edward Pendergrass and Lee Allen West Pendergrass.

He was a long-time employee of Halifax Electric Membership Corporation and attended South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon and Pastor Corey Brooks. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Shirley Seaman Pendergrass; two daughters, Rhonda Thomas (Junior), and Stacey Evans (David); two sons, Chuck Pendergrass (Tametha) and Danner Pendergrass (Samantha); five grandchildren, Megan King (Chris), Josh Faucette, Ashley Aiken (Brett), Tiffany Pendergrass and Jessica Evans; two great grandchildren, Owen Daniel King and Gracie Anne King; one sister, Diane Pruitt (Calvin); two brothers, Phil Pendergrass (Carole) and Bobby Pendergrass (Helen); one brother in law, Coen Strum; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sadie Strum.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Arthur "Junior" Bailey, Michael "Mike" Butts, Leonard "Leo" Daeke, Jeffrey "Jeff" Smith, Harold "Pee Wee" Vaughan and Butch Vogel. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees from Halifax Electric Membership Corporation.
