Charles Thomas Ranes Jr., 49, of Henderson, NC passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at UNC Medical Center.

Born in Vance County, NC, he was the son of Charles Thomas "Chuck" Ranes Sr. and Patricia Mae Allgood Ranes.

Charles attended South Henderson Church of God.

Alongside his parents, he is survived by one son Jimmy Thomas Ranes; one sister, Cristy Ranes; one niece, Skylar McGhee; one nephew, Joshua McGhee; his paternal grandmother, Rebekah Ranes; and his partner, Debra Sherman. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Herald Ranes, and maternal grandparents, Lewis & Eunice Allgood; two aunts, Sandra Allgood, and Marsha Ranes.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., at South Henderson Church of God, conducted by Pastor Mark Bateman.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
