Clarence M. West

Clarence Millard "Hard Rock" West, 72, of Henderson, NC died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Thomas Benjamin West and Lessie Allen West. He was the widower of Mariel Faye Jarrell West.

Mr. West retired from Vance County Schools in the Transporation Department and attended the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.  Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Surviving is one son, Charles C. Jarrell (Jeannie); three sisters, Ann Collier, Faye West and Jean Beck; six grandchildren, Ryan Jarrell, Tiffany Owen (Stacey), Chris Jarrell, Miranda Jarrell, Caleb Jarrell and Josh Pendergrass; nine great-grandchildren; and his "Lady Friend" Betty Williams.  Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Jarrell and three brothers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Owen, Larry Short, Homer Beck, John Winstead, Steve Pierce, Steve Manning, Josh Pendergrass, Mike Owen and Len West.

Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, 905 Americal Road, Henderson, NC  27537.
