Clinton R. Garrett

Clinton Ross Garrett 84, of Oxford, NC, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home.

Born in Mecklenburg County, VA, he was the son of the late Charlie Ross Garrett and Julia Verl Newton Garrett. He was the widower of Betty Louise Watson Garrett.

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Conducted by Rev. Wayne Clark. Interment will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.

Survivors include three sons, Clinton Wayne Garrett (Delinda), Julian Willard Garrett and Phillip Ross Garrett (Leigh); four grandchildren, Allen Garrett (Nikki), Brandy Elliott, Alaina Garrett and Evan Garrett; three great grandchildren, Brianna Elliott, Makayla Elliott and A’layla Lewis; one brother, Charles Garrett (Elizabeth); as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. At other times, the family will be at the home of Phil and Leigh Garrett.
