Connie A. Taylor

Connie Lee Alford Taylor, 90, of Stovall, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Born in Wayne County January 20, 1932, to the late Ivon Connie and Rosa Lee Royall Alford.  She was the wife of fifty-two years to the late James F. "J.F." Taylor Jr.

After the death of her parents in 1944, she was reared at Oxford Orphanage and graduated from John Nichols School in 1951.  For over forty years, she was a bookkeeper for Fox's Department Store and Granville Furniture Store.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Meadowview Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Yount.

Surviving are her children, Rita Hall (Terry), of Morehead City, James "Kenneth" Taylor, Angela M. Taylor (Sid), Lesa T. Pleasants (Charles), Johnnie A. Taylor (Julie), and Samuel B. Taylor, all of Oxford; a sister, Shirley F. Alford (Donna) of Illinois, fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by son, Gerald F. Taylor, grandsons, Kyle M. Tingen and Kendall G. Mosley, daughter in-law, Linda M. Taylor and her siblings William J. Alford, Edna A. Warren, Lois A. McCracken, Martha A. Davis and Helen A. Hendrick.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.  All other times, they will be at the home of Angela Taylor and Sid Cottrell, 6601 Sidney Cottrell Road Oxford, NC.
