Cora Hicks Brogden, 95, of 1513 Baptist Rd., Durham, NC, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at her home.

Born September 13, 1930, in Person County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bunnie Oscar Hicks and Eva Holsonback Hicks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. Rev. Dan Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Brogden; one brother, Oscar Hicks and three sisters, Nellie Gray Hicks, Mary Mangum Silverthorn and Veller Sanford Marzahl.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor and other times they will be at the home.
