Craig Stacy Perkins "Buford", 53, of Oxford, NC passed away unexpectedly, Friday, June 23, 2023, at Duke University Hospital.
A native of Granville County, he was the son of Peggy Ann Inscoe Perkins and the late Reginald Grey Perkins.
Much like his family, Craig enjoyed working and serving others.  He retired from the State of North Carolina Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner after many years of service as a Cook.  Prior to that, he was a Jailer at the Granville County Sheriff's Department and worked for the City of Oxford.  He was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and former member of the Cornwall Fire Department.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, music, cooking for others and caring for his dogs and cats.  He was dedicated to helping others and well known for sharing his good cooking with all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Creek Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Zach Campbell. Buril will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Lisa P Burwell (William); the Britt family; an amazing caregiver, Teresa Garrett; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Creek Baptist Church.
