Cynthia Anne Morton Clayton, 66, of Creedmoor, NC passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Duke Medicine Pavilion.

Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of Joseph Leon Morton Sr. and Betsy Stallings Morton.

Cynthia retired from Preferred Communications in Butner, NC and attended Living Word Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC.

Surviving alongside of her parents are her husband of 43 years, Billy C. Clayton; one daughter, Amanda Clayton (David); two sons, Derrick Clayton, and Christian Clayton; five grandchildren, Railie, Dakota, McKenzie, Emily, and Lisa; one brother, Joseph Morton Jr. (Sharon); many nieces and nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Morton.

She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Creedmoor, conducted by Rev. Mike Vaughn.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1-2:00 p.m.
