Daniel B. Grissom
Daniel Blake Grissom, 26, of Henderson, NC passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of Jeffrey Wayne Grissom and Linda Marie Lassiter Grissom.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Lane Blake Grissom; one brother, Jacob Wayne Grissom (Katelyn); and one sister, Leah Marie Grissom; his maternal grandfather, Danny Joe Lassiter and his maternal grandmother, Malae Marie Letuli; two nephews, Joseph Sherman Renn and Raymond Blake Renn and several other close family members and friends that loved him dearly.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George "Gus" Grissom and Rebecca Blake McDaniel.

Daniel was employed by Buffalo Milling Company and was quickly promoted to South Eastern Regional Sales Representative, traveling all over North Carolina, and parts of South Carolina managing many company accounts. As an avid fisherman, Daniel was sponsored by Kerr Lake Bait and Tackle and would be contacted by many people out of state requesting his services as a fishing guide. One of Daniel's favorite fishing spots to frequent was at Nutbush Bridge or Kerr Lake Dam. Daniel had a few other "honey holes" as he would call them, but as every fisherman knows, we can't disclose where they are. There was no question when Daniel was about to pull up somewhere because his 1990 Pontiac Firebird could be heard from at least a mile away.  Daniel and his dad worked many hours restoring "the bird" and only those who were held the closest to Daniel's heart had the honor to ride in the wind with him in that car that he loved so well.

Daniel grew up attending South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church under the pastoral leader, Rev. Frank Sossaman. Daniel loved and was deeply devoted to his family as well as those that he called friend. Daniel was a man of deep convictions and he lived a life of truth, loyalty, honor, and integrity, and he believed love was to be expressed through action and not just words.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.,  at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson, conducted by the Rep. Frank Sossamon.  Burial will follow in Elmwood  Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of  Sossamon Funeral Home.  All other times, they will be at the home of his parents.

Serving as pall bearers will be Jacob Grissom, Markel Davis, Cliff Grissom, Ethan Ayscue, Kevin Floyd, Jeff Weisner, Anthony Ignatz, Joe Johnson, and Carl James.
