Dave Green, 80, of Stem, NC passed away Monday, May 13, 2024.
Born in Beaver, WV on October 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Bessie Lilly.
Dave was like no other man you've ever met. He lived life his way and, on his terms, not caring what anyone thought. He was truly loved and respected by anyone that ever met him. His passion for piddling gave him tremendous joy, which led him to meet many new friends. If something was broken, he was GOING to fix it. Dave had the most unique and darndest sense of humor, and anyone who was around him sure knew that. Dave was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. Pastor Craig Phelps will officiate. Burial will follow at South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem, NC.
Survivors include, the love of his life, Renee Green; daughter, Marsha Green; bonus sons, James Cox and Richard Cox; amazing daughters-in-law, Rachel Cox and Ashley Cox; sister-in-law, Jenny Gibson; grandchildren, Shyanne and Jessie Urban of Ohio, James Cox III (J), Jewel Cox, and his little Wesley Cox of Stem, NC; sisters, Shirley Swanger, Kay Ellison (Pete), Janet Noel (Doug), and Vivian Miller (Steve) and nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, Robby Greer, Paul Harrah, Brandon West, Leandra Avancini, Nicholas Avancini, Chris Griffin, April Rouse, Becky Richardson and Heather Garretson.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Bessie and Rudy Martin of Daniels, WV; baby brother, Kevin Martin of Daniels, WV; brother, Bob Greer of Shady Spring, WV; brother-in-law, Roger Gibson of Stem, NC and his favorite nephew, David Richardson...as David always said: "I am his favorite".
The family will receive friends, Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor.
Pallbearers for the service will be James Cox, Richard Cox, Trevor Allen, Travis Ennis, Chris Griffin and Nicholas Avancini. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Cox and J Cox.
