David R. Matthews

David Ray Matthews, 60, of Henderson, N.C. died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Shirley Roberson Matthews and Thomas Jefferson Matthews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025,at 2:00 p.m. in Sossamon Funeral Chapel of Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Matthews.

Surviving are three brothers, Willis Matthews (Frankie), Clarence Matthews (Pat) and Scott Matthews (Rena); along with his fiancee, Darlene Humphries and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home.
