David Lynn Norwood, 60, of Wake Forest, NC passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of Edwin Ross Norwood and Betty Lou Aiken Norwood. He was the husband of Rebecca Sue Frazier Norwood.

David was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. David loved deep sea fishing and working on small equipment. He was a huge Nascar fan. David was always eager to help someone in need.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor conducted by the Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Surviving is his wife Rebecca, two sons; Adam and Bradley, of Wake Forest, two brothers; Eddie (Sarah) of Henderson and Barry (Melody) of Creedmoor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family would like donations made to The American Cancer Society at 8300 HealthPark, Suite 10 Raleigh, NC 27615.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 3,2023 from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor and after the graveside prayer at 15000 Creedmoor Road, Wake Forest, NC.
