Delores W. Robinson

Delores Wheeler Robinson,72, of Henderson, N.C. passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Briggs Wheeler and Henry Lee Wheeler.

Delores was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served in many areas of the church., such as a former choir member, a praise team member, the music director of the Wednesday morning services, and she sang and performed in special dramatic musicals.  She also was a member of the Morning Circle Ministry, the Helping Hands Ministry, (ISH) Instruments of Shining Hope Cancer Ministry, Missions Ministry, Young at Heart Ministry, and was a former Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher and also was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.  She retired from the former Senior Citizens Home of Henderson, where she was the Activity Coordinator.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon and the Rev. Mark Richardson. Burial will follow in Liberty Christian Church Cemetery.

Surviving is her husband of forty-two years, Ernest Allie Robinson Sr.; two daughters, Kristina Bawcum (Brian) and Pam Rooker (Scott), one son, Ernie Robinson (Sherri); seven grandchildren, Tyler Rooker (Brittany), Ashleigh Robinson (Will Moss), Dylan Robinson (Madison Overton), Cullom Rooker (Kenia), Cassie Harris (Taylor), Hunter Bawcum and Chase Bawcum, three great grandchildren, Zoey Rooker, Grayson Rooker, and Noah Rooker; one brother, H.L. Wheeler (Janet), along with many other extended family members.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Ann Yancey and her beloved dog, KAMI.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 10: 00 –11:00 a.m., at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.  All other times, they will be at her home.

Serving as active pall bearers will be Ernie Robinson, Scott Rooker, Brian Bawcum, Tyler Rooker, Cullom Rooker, Dylan Robinson, Taylor Harris, and Will Moss. Honorary pall bearers will be Doug Herrin, Chuck Ramsey, Ronnie Briggs, and Ronnie Currin.
