Dexter Lee Keith

Dexter Lee Keith, 71, of Franklinton passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Camelia Gardens in Henderson.

Born on June 14, 1953, in Wake County, he was the son of the late James Emil Keith Sr. and Myrdia Lee Duke.

Dexter was a siding contractor with Reagan siding for thirty years. His favorite hobbies included working on cars, racing, going to White Lake with family and friends and his most recent favorite pastime was playing sweepstakes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor. Pastor Buddy Ritter will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Thomas Keith (Krista), Kenneth Keith (Robin), Shelia Gray, Jeannene Jernigan, Pamela Williams and Theresa Budds; four grandchildren, Austin Keith, Kameron Keith, Brittany Keith-Bradshaw and Ryan Keith; two great grandchildren, Rayne Coley and Braleigh Turbeville; seven siblings, Jerry Wayne Keith (Crystal), Dorthey Allen (Donald) Jean McDowell, Carlton Keith (Betty), Curtis Keith (Vickie), Rosa Brannon (Timmy) and Tommy Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Keith and James Emil Keith Jr. and one sister, Tessa Jones, a son Randy Jernigan.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 21, 2025, one hour prior to the service at Sossamon Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
