It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Joyce McGuinness announce her passing on Friday October 18, 2024, at the age of 68. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Tom McGuinness; children, Wendy Carroll (Jason Carroll), Aimee McGuinness (Paul Lofthouse); grandchildren, Gavin, Savanna (Andrew), Stori, Jason Weldon "JW", Harrison "Wyatt", Robert "Bobby"; great-grandchildren, Evangeline; siblings, Valerie Long (Wayne Long), Gina Frye (Randy Frye); and numerous other family members and friends. Diane was predeceased by her parents, Winifred Joyce and Norman Joyce; sibling, Linda Canfield; and infant son, Thomas Jacob.
Diane was born in Detroit Michigan in 1956 to Norman and Winifred Joyce unfortunately her mother passed away when she was only 10 years old. She met the love of her life, and later in life, her primary caregiver, Thomas McGuinness. They began their life together in 1980. Diane and Tom welcomed their two daughters in the early 80's and moved to Creedmoor North Carolina where they have been since 1985. Diane was a devoted wife and mother as well as an active member of the Creedmoor Community. Diane was a woman of many passions including, teaching, helping with the food ministry, providing childcare to many families in Creedmoor whom she loved as her own. She loved being a grandparent, and her grandchildren were everything to her. Her home for nearly 40 years was the family gathering place for many
holidays, birthdays and family celebrations. Diane was always the gracious host, with a listening ear, a warm smile and a heart for others.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love for children and her selfless kindness to others. Despite living with Alzheimer's the last few years, we never lost the essence of our beloved Mom and Grandma. Her spirit shined through silly gestures and song.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor, 834 N. Main St. Creedmoor, NC 27522.
