Donna Smith Compton 63, of Virgilina, VA, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home.
She was the daughter of Alice M. Chambers and the late Jerry William Smith.
Donna was of the Baptist faith.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor. Conducted by Chaplain Laurie Fox. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Gerald Compton; three sons, Jerry Compton (Samantha), Jamie Compton and Jesse Compton (Jennifer); six grandchildren, Thomas Compton, Alexander Compton, Justin Compton, Hunter Compton, Ellison Compton and Emma Compton; one sister, Wanda Thompson (Timothy); one niece, Lillie Thompson; as well as other extended family members. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeri Allison Smith; maternal grandparents, C.B. and Lillie Dean Chambers; and paternal grandparents, Burton and Lillie Mae Smith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Neil Lowery, Keith Lowery, Steve Hogan, Brad Lack, Timothy Thompson, Thomas Compton and Hunter Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Compton, Alexander Compton and Ellison Compton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. At other times they will be at the home.
