Doris O. Tharrington

Doris Owen Tharrington,71, of Henderson, N.C. died Friday, June 28, 2024, at the home of her son, surrounded by her loving family,

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Irene Poythress and John Thomas Owen Sr.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where she was employed at the former Guardian Care Nursing Home of Henderson for forty-three years and was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Carey Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Neal Thornton.

Surviving are two sons, Gregory Scott Tharrington (Wendy) and Sterling Greyson Tharrington (Renea); two brothers, John T. Owen Jr. (Frances) and Joseph Cyrus Owen (Patsy); along with three grandchildren, Stephen G. Tharrington, Heather Nicole Griffin and Shannon Gracelyn

Tharrington, along with seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at her home.
