Dorothy Margaret Wise Zaczkowski passed away peacefully on March 11th, 2025, in Henderson, NC, surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born on June 10th, 1933 to Paul Wise and Anna Medak Wise, of Bridgeport, CT. Dorothy married the love of her life Frank Zaczkowski on June 14th, 1952. They were married for 57 years before he preceded her in death. Dorothy was a homemaker and raised four children with Frank. Dorothy moved with Frank and her daughter Lynn and family to Henderson, NC in 2006, where she has lived the past 18 years. Dorothy was a dutiful wife, a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dorothy was the loved matriarch of her family, and prepared countless family dinners, established many family traditions, and could be relied on to listen and support you through whatever you were going through. Dorothy enjoyed tag-saling, thrifting, and finding "treasures." She could be counted on to have a fitting saying, or to sing an old jingle, or say a phrase in Polish. She enjoyed traveling and went on many trips with her husband, her sister Patricia, and her children and grandchildren over the years. She loved ice cream and could always find room for dessert. Dorothy loved animals and could be found walking her dog, Anna, in the early mornings.

Preceding her in death are Dorothy's parents, Paul and Anna Wise, her sisters Anna Litke and Patricia Hassey, her husband Frank Zaczkowski, and her daughter Dorothy Ellen Zaczkowski.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Paul (Beth) Zaczkowski of Milford, CT, Glen (Joanne) Zaczkowski of Milford, CT, and daughter Lynn (Tim) Danehy who has cared for her these past few years, of Henderson, NC. She is also survived by grandchildren Adam, Aaron, and Ethan Anderson-Zaczkowski, Brittney Brooks, Zachary and Reed Danehy, Callie Jordan, and Gillian Zaczkowski, as well as four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and her dog Anna.

Dorothy will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 7, 2025 at 9:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd, Milford, CT 06461
