Obituary

Drucilla Annette Harris Paschall

Aug 6, 1947 – Aug 22, 2024

Drucilla (Dru) Harris Paschall, 77, of Henderson, lost her battle to cancer early Thursday morning at home. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Drucilla was born in Vance County on Aug 6, 1947. She was the daughter of Gracie Evelyn Scott Harris and the late William Marshall Harris, both of Henderson. Drucilla was brought up both Baptist and Pentecostal and was of Christian faith.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Frank Sossamon and Pastor Will Breedlove. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Drucilla was a graduate of Henderson High School in 1965. She worked as a telephone operator for Carolina Telephone Company from 1965-1985. She had an early retirement where she became a dedicated house-wife to her loving husband and family, where she worked full time keeping her grandchildren and managing home duties. Her family often referred to her as a fireball. She was always full of energy. You could hear her laugh across the room. She loved singing old gospel hymns with her family, playing scrabble with her mother and sisters, rummy with her granddaughters, basketball with her grandson, and she handed out endless hugs and snuggles to her great grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy.

Other than family, Drucilla's true love in life was riding motorcycles. Nothing made her happier than riding fast on curvy roads and going on motorcycle trips with her lively motorcycle gang. Drucilla was a family woman. You didn't see her often without her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, mother, or siblings in tow. Dru loved shopping. Nothing made her happier than finding a good deal on a sales rack! Dru also took great pride in her yard work and keeping her home polished. She had a standard for how her yard and home should be kept. Come rain or shine, sickness or health, her yard and house were always in tip top shape if she had anything to do with it.

Surviving is Dru's loving husband of fifty nine years, Clifton Dennis Paschall; two daughters, Angela Pernell Langston (Wes) and Pattie Paschall Jarrell (Paco); three grandchildren, Tiffany Jarrell Owen (Stacey), Brittany Denise Pernell and Caleb Dale Jarrell (Taylor), two great-grandchildren, River Chase Owen and Ivey Jayne Jarrell; two sisters Judy Lovings and Patsy Briggs and one brother, Wayne Harris (Vickie); along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Sunday Aug 25, 2024, from 2-3:30 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. They will receive friends at the home of Drucilla and Dennis Paschall all other times. She will be open for public viewing on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers: Wes Langston, Stacey Owen, Charles Jarrell, Caleb Jarrell, Francisco Limas, Matt Dunaway, Justin Cunningham and Zack Woodlief.

Dru would be honored if anyone would like to ride their motorcycle in the funeral procession. If you plan to do so, please be at the church promptly at 3 pm.

Arrangements are by Sossamon Funeral Home in Henderson. Online condolences may be made at www.sossamonfuneralhome.com.
