Edith Merle Perry Daniel, 85, of Oxford passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Duke University Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late Hammond Perry and Mamie Tilley Perry.
Edith worked at Burlington Industries for more than forty years before she retired. She had a passion for the outdoors, gardening and rocks and she loved her family immensely.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Jeff Prewer will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
Survivors include two sons, Rob "Robbie" Daniel and Jeff "P.Y." Daniel (Crystal); five grandchildren, Taylor Drake (Chris), Samantha Daniel (Josh), Logan Matthews, Kasey Matthews and Wayne Matthews; two great grandchildren; Rhett Drake and David Mitchell; one sister, Janet Stewart and two brothers, Ralph Perry (Carole) and Felton Perry (Brenda). She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bud" Garland Daniel Jr; a grandson, Robert David Carter and eight siblings, Edward Perry, Willie Perry, Tom Perry, Horace Perry, Peggy Elliott, Dora Crabtree, Shirley Byrd and Alma Earle Pope.
