Betty passed away at home on January 10, 2024 surrounded by family after battling Lupus disease for six years.
Born March 28, 1949, in Montclair, NJ. Betty grew up in Roseland, NJ and graduated in 1967 from West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell NJ. Betty continued her education at Monmouth Medical Center School of Nursing where she became an RN in 1969.  She received her bachelor's degree from Georgian Court College.

Betty worked as a registered nurse for 45 years and for the last 15 years prior to retirement she taught health and life sciences at South Granville High School in Creedmoor, NC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Betty is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Julia Juhasz.  She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Byron Leu.  Her children, Jennifer Leu of Wake Forest and David Leu (Justine) of Franklinton. Her granddaughters Nichole, Madison and great-grandchildren Kingsley and Kashton.  Her brother William and her sister Barbara Mahler (William) and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was an avid reader and skilled knitter who knitted many things for friends and family.  She was passionate about helping others and was pleased to learn that many of her former students who she taught in high school had chosen to pursue careers in the healthcare profession.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Creedmoor.

The family wishes to thank Amedisys hospice, and nurse Kaylee one of her former students, for assisting Betty in her final Journey in life.
