Elizabeth Emory Price, of Durham, departed this earthly life October 5, 2022 in Paoli, PA.

Elizabeth, also known as Lib or Jamie, was born February 8, 1927 in Durham, NC to Letitia Midgett Emory and James Macon Emory.

Her maternal grandparents were Patsy Robinson Midgett and Edward L. Midgett of Dare County, NC.  Her paternal grandparents were Deliah Coley Emory and Lewis Duncan Emory of Wake County, NC.

Lib was married to Clifton H. Price in November 1950. They lived in Durham all their married life.  Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Rebecca J. Stubbs. To her grandchildren who called her Mimi, she is survived by Raymond C. Stubbs and Elizabeth M. Thompson.  Along with her two great grandchildren, Sophia V. Stubbs and Edith J. Thompson.

In 1954, Lib began working at Home Security Life Insurance Company, which later became Peoples Security Life Insurance, she continued to work there 23 years.

Leaving Peoples Life, Elizabeth joined her former colleagues, Charles Dilts and George McKee at Investors Consolidated Insurance Company as their office manager and financial secretary.  She retired from Investors in 1997 as Vice President and Controller.  Lib always counted her career as challenging and rewarding, enjoying many friendships throughout her life.

Lib and Cliff joined First Baptist Church in October 1952 and made many lasting friendships in their various activities with the youth, college and young adult departments.

After 50 years of worshiping at First Baptist, they shifted gears and began their ministry at Watts Street Baptist Church. Joining a Ladies Class, Lib met many new friends and found the class a source of spiritual fulfillment.

A celebration and remembrance service will be held on November 5th at 11:00 AM at Sossamon Funeral Home (formerly Eakes Funeral Home) in Creedmoor, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in memory of Elizabeth Price to the UNC Department of Ophthalmology.
