Ella O'Neal Richard, 93, of Oxford passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at her home.

Born in Granville County on August 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Ransom O'Neal and Mamie Ross.

She attended Mary's Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. Pastor Alvin Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Richard Dickerson (Jim) and Pamela Grey McFalls (Rex); one son, Randall Lee Richard (Camela); eight grandchildren, Matthew Faulkner (Kelsey), Connor Gooch (Eliza), Randall Richard Jr., Misty Parham (Blake), Tiffany Riley (John), Chris Riley (Drena), Lane Dickerson (Harley) and Cole Dickerson (Jenny); three great grandchildren, Carter Parham, Raymond Royce Riley and Rylann Parham and two sisters, Patsy Douglas and Sue Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Richard; two sisters, Louise Keith and Shirley Wilkerson and four brothers, Hal Harris O'Neal, Richard O'Neal, Freddie O'Neal and Winston O'Neal.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 30, 2025, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. All other times they will be at the home of Susie and Jim Dickerson.
