Elsie Lee Wilson Jordan

Elsie Wilson Jordan went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 80.

Elsie was a resident of Granville County living in the Stovall community. She was born on May 26, 1945, to the late John H. Wilson Sr. and Mary Stella Guerrant.

From starting out on a tobacco farm as the daughter of a sharecropper, to graduating from a rural small-town school (Stovall high School), Elsie spent most of her years in her beloved Stovall community. Elsie loved her cats and spent many hours caring for them and driving around looking for another stray cat to take in and care for.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Stovall Baptist Church. Private burial will be in the Stovall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Rose Wilson; two nieces, Janet Parrott and Karen Rose Strickland (Bruce); one nephew John Samuel Wilson and many extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John H. Wilson Jr. and one sister, Mittie Wilson Currin.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at Stovall Baptist Church.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to her great nephew, Harry Brian Hobgood for the special care he provided to her.
