Eugene Hartwell Hudson Jr., 70, of Henderson, NC passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Eugene Hartwell Hudson Sr. And Perry Mae Pruitt Hudson.

Hartwell was a member of South Henderson Church of God, where he sang in the choir. He attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at the South Henderson Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Mark Bateman, Rev. Yogi Campbell and Rev. Carroll Glasscock.  Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Surviving is his wife of forty-five years, Ann H. Hudson; two daughters, Jenni H. Soult (Mel) and Emily H. Spencer (John); two sisters, Vicki H. Ikner (Brad) and Sandra H. Felix (Al); six grandchildren, Carson Soult, Chance Soult, Scarlet Soult, Isaac Spencer, Isabel Spencer and Maggie Spencer.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 9:30-11:00 a.m., at South Henderson Church of God.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Joe Chacon, Adam Chacon, G.G. Crowder, Thomas Franklin, Terry Barber, Alvin Johnson, Ray Patrick and Buster Hicks.  Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Men's Sunday School Class of the church.
