Eva Frances Edwards Elmore, 80, of 322 Bearpond Road, Henderson, NC died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at a local nursing home.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Hill Thomas and Lillian Jackson Edwards. She was the widow of George Wesley Elmore Jr.
Mrs. Elmore retired as a Secretary at Rose's Stores Inc. She was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church, where she was a former Deaconess, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Teacher, and choir member.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Nutt.
Surviving are three sisters, Othela E. Moody of Henderson, Mary Thomas E. Wynne and husband Charlie of Henderson, and Sylvia E. Goss and husband Kenneth of Oxford, NC; and two brothers, B. Frank Edwards of Middleburg, NC and Joseph Hill Edwards and wife Shelia of Henderson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Harper and a brother, Willard Thomas "Tom" Edwards.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Frank Edwards, 195 Walnut Street, Middleburg, NC.
